He was from further west around Mechanicsburg which is close to Harriburg. His older brother was supposedly in Braddock's Defeat in 1755 but that may be apocryphal. I've had the luck to do some research at the Library of Congress. Found one who was arrested for poaching the Margrave's deer, and another who the Margrave tried to talk out of emigrating to America. I also have a list of what my first ancestor brought with him in 1748; it included one rifle. There have been fire arms in my family since the landing. If the Supreme Court tries to tell the "right" is not private, all I'll do is laugh.
