Perhaps you are unaware of the draft report from Ira Magaziner and Hillary Clinton's Health SCare Task Force. It clearly recommended that providing health care outside of the socialized net should be a Felonious Crime. I'm aware of it. I'm also aware of what became of it. Dead as a doornail. That is probably more of a Libertarian discussion than a health care one. Perhaps. When a doctor is unwilling to go to jail to keep me from dying, the government has the power of life and death over me. But to me it doesn't seem much different from a doctor who is unwilling to go to jail to end my pain when I'm ready to go. As for the health care hook, there's a resource factor involved in keeping people alive against their will.
