we have no one to surrender to in iraq. Al queda mostly gone. Shiaa militias more quiet than before. Iran in position to be engaged. Kurds and turks accomodating next week perhaps? i agree surge has worked militarily but nothing has really changed politically. I dont want to stay there forever. American troops are a lightening rod. Look at sarman today in touting the taliban..America can stop the bad guys but in the end the good guys or the ok guys need to work at making peace and we cant have a military that becomes the blue helmet brigade. We need to leave over 16 months (obama) and declare mission completed (chinton).
