I watch the Newshour almost every night. I don't remember even ONE report on Holloway there. Maybe one mention in passing at the beginning of the show.

"I've never understood Fox's fascination with Holloway."

Remember that Murdoch got his start with the British tabloids. Holloway's story is the perfect tabloid story. We have a beautiful teenager from a well off family. She wasn't a Dubya, she actually did much more than just skate through school. A perfect blank slate to paint a lot of images. To make it even better, two of the main suspects aren't white and all of them have weird names. In other words, more blank slates on which to paint fears.

Interesting. Never saw what they saw. To me, she was a typical girl who believed her own spin and then got in over her head. It used to piss me off at the gym when Fox would run video of her over and over again.....marching, riding in her daddy's car, twirling batons etc.

So there are a lot of things to appeal to. And pandering is what Fox News does the best. Like any good tabloid.

Frankly, from the reports, she was drinking heavily enough that if the 3 main suspects had supplied here with illegal drugs in the hope of getting her horizontal, she very well may have died from that. The alcohol alone might have done the job. Not that would absolve them of culpability, but you see how that would have panicked them...

The latest story is they think the guys left her on the beach and she was so messed up she went out with the tide.
