<<I would not consider the Brian Day anecdote to be in anyway something that brings this issue to some type of conclusion.>>

Why did you post it?Because it was negative to the Canadian system?Agenda?????<<gg>>

Canadian million dollar man anecdote..

Excerpt..

<<...Yesterday i shook hands with a Canadian man who was recently released from hospital after ten months stay about three of them in intensive care near death, the dollar cost to him $0.00 other than taxes. He is still financially whole.
If one of the 47 million uninsured in America would have encountered such misfortune , what would be the outcome?..>>

Legitimate question, but no replies, from the active cheerleaders on this thread.I really should not expect a reply to it because the majority on this thread and on SI are well to do and are well insured so defend the status quo.The uninsured and underprivileged are not represented here...far to busy scratching out a living.

Anecdote after anecdote up and down my street.

Two years ago 73 year old neighbour diagnosed with kidney cancer...kidney removed and two weeks in intensive care in new state of the art hospital due to complications..outcome success...zero cost to him other than taxes.

Last year a neighbour had knee replacement... success ...zero cost to her other than taxes..other knee replacement this year.

Cataract surgery both eyes ...successful...zero cost other than taxes.

The one million dollar man in late fifties, 10 months in hospital 3 in intensive care near death...rehabilitating to go back to work..success...zero cost other than taxes...no bankruptcy.

Knee problems and laproscopic surgery success.

Heart problems and bi pass surgery ..success

Brain anurism operation success ...

Colon cancer and prostate cancer surgeries ...success

Were there wait times involved?...you bet.Why would each individual expect to go immmediatly to the front of the line when millions of people need the same care in any system 24/7/365?When a dark cloud calamity comes upon one, it is reassuring, that everything that one has worked for will not be in jeopardy.
Does anyone actually believe that there would be absolutely no waiting times if an ENTIRE POPULATION is served using any system??There is not enough fluffy dollars in this bankrupt world to support that idea.

Tell me the ANECDOTES from your street.

Canadian health care issue still not addressed IMHO.
