"ignorant Greenie global warming doomsterists"

Maurice, I know some of these ignorant people - top climatologists, biologists and physicists at Berkeley and Stanford. They're topnotch people in their fields, with wide-ranging intellects and decades of research behind them. These are not exactly "ignorant" people. And I think they have a clue about time frames.

The GW deniers should stop with the name-calling. Whether they want to admit it or not, the scientific community (including the US Academy of Science, countless Nobel Laureates, etc etc) believe GW to be a problem. Sorry, that's just a fact. And calling all these top scientists "ignorant" about science doesn't change this fact. It's also ridiculous.

>>Gaia is a suicidal maniac<<

More like homicidal. It sure helps with natural selection though. Hopefully we will evolve fast enough to escape the neighborhood in time. Only 70,000 years ago Mt. Toba exploded, causing a six year global winter, almost wiping out homo sapiens, covering India with up to twenty feet of ash, and probably putting a heck of a lot more pollution in the atmosphere in a few days than man created in his entire existence.

Heh. I like to tweak people who claim to be very worried about global warming (but often still drive SUVs and take long air trips on holidays) by asking them "would you prefer global cooling to global warming?"
