Interesting piece arguing for deflation by our pal Mish:

globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com

I'd like to own some nice USA properties, but I would like to see 50% price cuts

Get your cash ready. You'll be getting a chance at exactly those sorts of haircuts in SoCal, maybe as early as the end of 2008, and certainly by 2011. The question is more when than if. Prices here fell as much as 40% during the '89 - '94 RE recession, and mortgages at that time were much more stable than the time bombs people are sitting on today. A reversion to the mean will take SoCal RE down 50% if not more.

That's odd, I put a link to Salvador Dali's exploding soft clock and it went away into some cyberspace black hole. Here's another go at it. prints.co.nz
