undervalued chinese stocks...then if china lets their currency ride, we get to double dip, one for the currency ride and another for the gain in the stock?

i guess anything pegged to the dollar is a good bet now, potentially?

The moment of truth is upon us. $30 dollar level on C.

I believe there might be some massive margin calls awaiting once it breaks 30, judging by desperate efforts to keep the closing price above 30.

I'm feeling your pain StockFairy!

I was banking on people fleeing to gold, but it hasn't happened. I think it may be that for most people, $800 today makes it seem like gold is pushing it's all time high, yet in inflation adjusted dollars, it would need to be $2000 or so to be doing that.

I just really don't know WHERE to hunker. So, I'm in cash.

Gold will slice through $1000 like it was nothing, IMO.

Did you ever hear of investing money in shorting? Why do people only think about investing in something that goes up, when you can invest in something that goes down?

I do agree, it will be a tricky year for some.

Amazing how different things can seem.

I see an ocean of value out there. They are just giving stocks away here imo. price/book on a lot of tech names are a multi year lows, they tossed out almost all the banks, even those with almost no subprime/alt-a exposure. The list goes on.

doesn't leave much to invest in then, you are paying too much for gold and international investments and any stock you buy is going to collapse in a derivitive implosion. if you hide the dollar under your bed, you are just going to lose to inflation and currency devaluation. it's also too late to short the dollar.

You mean people will be forced to put their savings into some sort of active (as opposed to passive) investment like opening up a business, something that actually makes or sells a product? Ha!

So how's the furniture biz going for you?
