We actually don't need much of their stuff, with the exception of energy, and even energy is only temporary, till conservation and renewable energy kick in. If push comes to shove, we stop imports and start manufacturing the stuff here, just like the old times. During WWII we were able to convert the entire industrial capacity of the US to war production in less than a year. Don't underestimate the American people.

On the other hand, I doubt that China or India and most of the rest of Asia will be able to produce all the food their newly rich consumers would want.

You should never forget that trinkets are easy to produce. On the other hand, land, energy, water resources are irreplaceable. And we have plenty of those.
