i am hoping that you are not advocating that usa empire become a banana republic focusing on food production, retracing the path of wealthy argentina to monetary reset argentina, as opposed to evolving into a neo industrial powerhouse aiming for the stars, where more food, land, water, and resources must be

ultimately, the planet earth will most assuredly be a dead planet

trinkets? change mindset necessary and fast, for enough trinkets can change the world order and had in the past

as to <<needing>>, when the usa stops needing <<much of their stuff>>, it will in fact be "game over, player one, for you will not be needing socks hence forth>> - do not wish for what you are speaking of, you do not want to go there, and in the mean nasty time, the price of socks will inexorably rise, along with energy, bad for folks who must drive less and walk more, from ex-burbs to suburbs to burbs

innovation happens in the factories, next door to the engineering and design shops, serving successively higher needs and wants and funding centers of genuine learning and reflection, as opposed to financial engineering institutes and thieving training

yes, innovation in food production is also necessary, and is not led by the usa - usa leads in medicine that cost usd 100k per course and on up, much of the lot to cure ailments having to do with sins mentioned prominently in the bible

the path to banana republic-dom is not the way forward

as to the american people, who would that be, the heroic sort that founded the republic or the wastrel lot that is ruining the empire?

<You should never forget that trinkets are easy to produce> What profound ignorance -- you would be very hard pressed to go shopping in any store anywhere in the US and buy $100 in merchandise without some if not most of it coming from factories outside the US. The same is increasingly true in the US for services which are now widely traded on international markets.
