It has finally occurred to me where you got the misinformation about who pays for medical research. I have read claims like what you repeatedly wrote from the same people that think that the government pays for your house and car. They add up the tax deductions and call in government funding under the theory that everything you and I earn belongs to the government and that letting us keep some of it to spend is a cost to government.
