Yeah, they are going to exempt all the "low income" stuff, such as food. And every time a Pol is up for election, he will run on exempting something else. And we are then back into the same old game.

Flat Tax is working in Europe. And will work here, if it ever gets a chance.

I wonder what you consider "Middle Class". Down here in S. Fla. I say it takes a MINIMUM $70,000 a year to have a reasonably comfortable lifestyle. I think that holds true nearly everywhere as most states have far higher taxes. Anyhow, people making 70k certainly pay income taxes unless they have a housefull of kids. jdn
