"In the realm of time, human life is a mere speck. For insignificant humans to think that they can change the earth's climate enduring for millions of years, is ignorant dreaming. If that were possible, they'd be disarming tornados and hurricanes."

A quote from Dr SciFi Mikey C himself? Now what exactly the short duration of humans existence logically has to do with humans ability to affect the weather is ???

As an example of human power I'm pretty sure that a 1MT nuke will take out any tornado, and I'm pretty sure a cluster of 20MT nukes would take out a hurricane. Just to show the power of those ignorant dreaming humans, both solutions would do considerably more damage than the storms they stop. So much for "insignificant humans".

One often runs into this type of comment from Fundamentalist Christians, because weather is the Domain of God, and humans were supposed to have learned at the Tower of Babel not to challenge the Gods. At least I think that is the "reasoning" behind such nonsense.

I don't think that we should believe that we can't change the climate, I believe it is eventually possible. Just that the CO2 worry is exaggerated at best. Except for that worry, its not a bad gas. Still some good is coming from the debate, it may speed up alternate fuels, but need to keep undu restriction in check. There even been talk of getting rid of two stroke motors in model airplanes, never mind that they burn only alcohol and nitromethane. Geezz nitromethane may just be the coolest alternate fuel, at least if you want to go very fast for a very short time. Electric cars would be cool if the hatteries would hold a long charge, and not be an environmental hazard when dumped. One truck I drove at work occasionaly sure had good acceleration. But you could barely drive it 15 miles out and back. If they would figure out how to make hot fusion reactors, then hydrogen fuel cell cars would work very well.

Sorry about my spelling and grammar, its getting late and do not feel like correcting this.
