Yes. The link in this post proves that your claim is false. So your sarcastic comment is not relevant to the discussion.

Furthermore, since taxes are paid by people who have health insurance, so government grants are in fact paid by US consumers even if they have to pay twice as much due to government overhead. If you include the cost of government overhead it pushes the cost to US consumers for medical research to around 7 1/2% of GDP. That rate is much higher in percentage terms than most if not all other nations. In real terms it is probably more than the next twenty nations combined.
