It is funny to watch them them try to dance around the facts. They are perfectly willing to jump off the "logic cliff" rather than admit they are wrong.

A surtax was added to luxury pleasure boats and yachts. Demand went down so much that the main effect was to throw all the poor schlubs that made them out of work, and the tax was quietly round-filed.
