Yes - the polarization is extreme. If Hillary is elected it will be worse. Perhaps Barrack would be different. On the Republican side perhaps McCain could make it better.

Now it is only crisis that will bring change.

".....hanging from the chandelier as this country slides into a 40-50 year economic food fight."

You on the chandelier, me in my cozy cave trying not to get any on us, contemplating a NY resolution. Here's the one I bin workin' on...

You and I are born to the human family. We are not beasts but have been granted the choice of something much nobler … to live in hope and patience, seeking truth and compassion. And this pursuit it seems to me is worthy.

We become that which we seek and for which we sacrifice; while we embody that which we fear most. I’d rather give mankind to extinction than become less than beasts, exploiting the sexuality of females as objects of our lust, or torturing men as a venue to wealth, power, or acclaim.

Ask yourself what is the obligation of one to another; is it humiliation or well being? The former, in fact, is self imposed while the latter is given as it is received. We are guided not toward the infliction of pain onto others but rather redemption though bearing the pain and suffering of others with out vindictiveness … as you know, what you have done unto one is as though you have done it to all; and so, bear that which you are given in joy, not in anger, self pity, or for the sympathy of another.

I'm inspired by a quote from Ghandi.

"Man has reason, discrimination and free-will such as it is. The brute has no such thing. It is not a free agent, and knows no distinction between virtue and vice, good and evil. Man, being a free agent, knows these distinctions, and when he follows his higher nature, shows himself far superior to the brute, but when he follows his baser nature can show himself lower then the brute." Ghandi

Once again we face a new year with the invitation to become that which we seek. I'm considering going all in on this one.

Happy New Year,
gem
