Katelew,

I think there is a distinct difference between your approach to "green" and others on the board. For you it seems to be part of a rational thought process. For others it is part of the hate Bush religion. If Bush was for solar some on this board would be against it.

The coming election will be most interesting. I hope that the two candidates speak clearly to the issues. We need an open, thorough and honest debate.

Bob

All I can say is that alternative energy and 'going green' (they aren't necessarily the same thing always) are a growth industry with wonderful investment opportunities......no different from the change from horses to automobiles.

I think my statement supports your statement. Going green is a growth industry BECAUSE it's seen as a virtuous act. There is no stronger human motivation than the approval of your fellow man. Unlike the shift from horses to cars, there's no economic benefit in shifting from a Corolla to a Prius (horses had huge costs because you had to feed them every day whether you used them or not).

Come on, the last time I looked a Prius cost $9,000 more than a Corolla. Unless you're driving a taxi or gas costs $10 a gallon where you are, buying a Prius makes no economic sense.

So why are people buying them?

I rest my case.
