An Italian person.

That kind of stuff gets thrown around all the time in ethnically diverse neighborhoods - always in fun. I should say got thrown around, we live in sensitive times now. Can only joke around with old school people these days. By the way, I was made an honorary guinea by an old girlfriend's father - his words, not mine.

That's a noble and worthy thing you have in mind. An organization called World Vision claims they take your money and take care of a specific kid with it. They send you a photo, tell you his or her birthday, give periodic progress reports, etc. I did that for awhile a few years ago until I began to suspect the whole thing was a fiction. I forget why I thought that, it was quite awhile ago. Maybe I was completely wrong....if I come across anything I'll certainly let you know.

I wouldn't know about kids, I take care of winos and dogs....

This is the person whose sensibilities I may have offended the other day. She's an old friend who I had lost contact with but have reconnected with. She's making some prints for me of an oil painting that was done in 1911 of the town center. The artist sat on my front porch - right where I like to sit. It's an exciting project, I've done some research on the artist so there will be an accompanying text with the print. She's making three, one for me, one for the lady who owns the painting, and one for our local historical society. If anybody else wants one, they'll have to pay her.
