Edwards has a stellar record. Many fine leaders voted with Bush after 9-11 who have since apologized. Edwards is one of them. Obama wasn't around for that vote. If he had been who knows what he'd have done. After 9-11 it was a real problem. Trust Bush-cheney or not? 85% of the people wanted our leaders to trust Bush-Cheney at the time. And they had the press eating out of their hands. Anyone who dissented was branded as a traitor.

That was a very different time. But we have all learned a lesson from it. Never trust a rightwing war profiteer when it comes to making excuses to start a new war. Also remember, Bush Sr. was nowhere near as bad as Bush-cheney in 2003, so there was reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.

What I am interested to know is why he declined to re-run for a job with lesser responsibilities that the President for his own state.

Why he thought that he could not win a Senator's seat in a state but thinks he can win the Presidency in a country.
