"Peter also would like to see social security scrapped!!!

Now that would lead to the mother of all recessions, wouldn't it? Not to mention a 40 year housing glut as grandparents everywhere sell their homes and move in on their kids <g>."

With the cost of education what it is today, grandparents will have to fight it out with the grandkids for space in the house. I know in the NYC area, kids just cant afford to pay for housing so they double and triple up in one befroom studio apartments the small size of which you can not believe at rents up to $5,000 per month. In state costs for Rutgers is 23k. Out of state tuition for Penn State is 32k. Peter is living in a glass house but throwing stones.

"raising wages increases consumer spending which increases revenues to business, etc. etc. It could be more or less a wash instead of leading to consumer led recessions, which is the most likely type of recession now given our economic structure.

So the point I'm trying to make is why would raising wages lead to a consumer led recession when it puts more money in the hands of consumers?"

If you included the part about increased MW leading to increased prices and decreased volume with a small marginal increase or decrease in total revenue while increasing the structural overhead portion of the business thus making lt less competitive and more likely to be subject to recessionary forces and or competitive forces your explanation would be substantially improved.

The rest of your post is indicative of reality disassociation syndrome.
