You miss the point completely. It's the people of the world that we used to provide moral leadership to, not their rulers. You're making stuff up, some of the people of the world get their moral leadership from their church or perhaps community, but most get it from their parents. NO ONE gets it (or used to get it) from the USA. Where are these non-US citizens of the past that used to get their moral leadership from the USA? They only exist in your mind. The people of the world have never outsourced their moral guidance to the USA. An American saying "we are the moral leaders of the world" doesn't make it so.
