Summed over a year? I think it would be over 50%. Otherwise, it depends on the time of year and the latitude. Now, overcast would cut it down some. But, I would guess that it isn't installed in the PNW for a reason...

Hum, my guess is they take night into account <g>.

It would have to be rather high and quantifiable in order for current solar power technologies to make good economic sense.

Until then, there is a lot of subsidizing going on.


There is a lot of good science and economics going on Ten. It's not political, there are real quantitative decisions being made.

It's good to be skeptical. But look at the whole picture... including the "hidden" costs of traditional energy production. And think about the future. What does it cost to be a follower instead of a leader? What's the economic cost if a company from some other country had developed the microprocessor, instead of Intel?
