I just hope the crowd that takes over after GWB is sent to clear brush gets it.. The huge risk is a big spike in long term rates before we get out of the current housing/credit crisis.. We can only debase the dollar, run huge deficits, cut fed funds, monetize the back end of the curve, fight unneccessary wars and cut federal taxes further for so long before the shit really hits the fan, we no longer are the reserve currency and out of control double digit inflation and interest rates become the norm again.. People are not aware of what the Clinton administration did in 1993 to start us on the right track in the face of stiff opposition from even his own part. Simple thing is balance the budget and build a real economy while maintaining a strong dollar policy. It will be so much more difficult this time to pull a rabbit out of a hat though..
