There are naked Aztecs leaping around clutching their little gold totems, chanting imprecations to the deities for the Emperor to topple.

Atavistic barbarians everywhere! Cargo cult everywhere, with clueless government kleptocrats lining their and their supporters pockets.

One of your best bits of prose, and there are many.

But I think I see an apostrophe violation.

osake, mosake, osake mosake, ohmmmmmmmmmn

i am tempted to sell paper gold and lock-in the goodness, although i promised self not to do it again until the big penultimate liquidation

selling gold is like having sex, difficult to stop

given that i am tempted to sell, probably means i should consider buying more

another good feature of gold, like sex, one can spend a lot of time thinking about it, even though it is simplicity itself requiring no thought

i suppose, by past experience, one should just buy more when feel like selling, and sell all when figuring to buy more

this above rumination is also why the best gold is physical gold, for it is troublesome to sell given its mass, and whenever one sees the physical, one actually change mind about selling even the paper gold, and turns a buyer

like sex, when confronted with a choice, the decision invariably points to more is better than less, now better than later, for self better than for others, and that it is good, requiring no debate, just like money, except much more permanent and robusto

how simple is that?
