Charitable giving and paying taxes are separate in my mind, mutually exclusive might be the better word.

Paying more taxes probably wouldn't change the amount of money I give to charities each year. But that's because I'm assuming any democratic increase on me isn't going to be huge.

I'm not in a high bracket. What I'd lose would be the 15% capital gain and dividend, etc. structure but that's not all my income. I'm really not worried.

I'm less worried about the way a dem administration will spend my tax dollars than I am about a rep administration. I'm assuming dems will use the money to pay down debt and shore up SS and Medicare, but I do want to see lots of specifics once we have a dem nominee and we move closer to the election.

But I do understand what you're saying about how you feel about govt. spending.
