Yes, I'm a Republican supporter. However, when I pointed out in an earlier post that NO and LA had been Democrat ruled for a very long time .... that was just a matter of fact, not a political opinion.

----------------------------------------------------
And LA has a governor that stiff-armed the fed. govt. LA delayed the Salvation Army and Red Cross from Houston entering the state for a while:

Government Tells the Red Cross to Stay Out of New Orleans

Strange. You just answered your comment up above. If you are trying to blame the lack of gov't response because the Red Cross was not allowed into NO, then you are about as partisan as they come. To refresh your memory, Bush was in San Diego strumming his guitar for GOP contributions while one of his most important cities was down for the count. It was only when the press and individuals started screaming their lungs off, did they get his attention focused on NO. That's when he told us everything was under control as the levees broke and flooded the city. Meanwhile ice intended for NO was found in trucks everywhere but NO including Idaho and Maryland. Medical supplies literally were on a slow boat coming from SC. Trailers needed by the newly homeless were sitting in an Arkansas parking lot..rotting away. Eventually FEMA's Brownie became the sacrificial lamb and got fired. Is any of this jogging your memory?

BTW I was in the LA quake in 1994 and saw how FEMA should respond to a natural disaster and I guarantee you their was no comparison to what happened to NO. I mean its unbelieveable.....its over two years later and NO is half the size it was in 2000. The city has been decimated due to gov't neglect..mostly by the federal level but at the state level as well.

Its a funny thing to me that FEMA handled a bunch of hurricanes in FL fine the year before Katrina, but suddenly became incompetent in 2005.

Of course, you guys on the left are picturing this as Bush deciding to f*** NO because its Democratic and black and Republicans are racists. Thats just not true.

It is true that NO and LA have been poorly ruled for decades and that contributed mightily to NO's problems. LA did restrict people entering the state for relief purposes. I recall reading statements in the Houston paper by the Salvation Army and Red Cross explaining they weren't allowed in by LA state police.
