Geez, that is a hard Q! It is more about the feel here and there than eyeing differences, although I shall straight it out first that I started settling back in March '06, and visited hometown infrequently in between.

Notices! 1st, awareness of the outside world in many aspects such as financials, food hygiene of imported food and chain-stores, environmental conscious, etc., among populace is much higher than what you could 'see'; 2ndly, completed the process of overcoming the disadvantageous economical position and some are very constructively aggressive; 3rd, personally feel the touch of being connected; 4th, dusty everywhere, a bit better than in 2006 now, indicative of peaking of infrastructure expansion, and another kind of rapid development is impending? Etc., etc. A setback is that I feel larger competitive pressure here than was there.

That is more or less it. Thank you for asking!
