"the dollar might rise with some fiscal discipline and a realization that Bush is finally gone"

Just winding down Iraq and having Bush gone will remove the "instability and fear" premium from oil. How much has that idiot rattling our sabre cost us in the last seven years?

'I wasn't around for Carter but I wonder if this is what it was like, you just want him to go away asap'

Carter had to deal with double digit interest rates, high unemployment + the Soviet Union. GWB had an incredible opportunity to unite the country and the world post 9/11 in a new global economy of unprecedented technological advances with very low interest rates and balanced budget handed to him and totally blew it.

Just imagine where we would be today if we also had to contend with mortgage rates and unemployment at double digits along with a second super power spending like a drunken sailor?
