whats the PROBLEM? You work in IT. You have seen what has been accomplished in the last few decades in a free wheeling wide open competitive environment. What you, and many other SV entrepreneurs, fail to realize, is that solutions to energy problems can only be solved in the same manner. When you get the government up to its ears in energy policy, mandating this, banning that, taxing this and subsidizing that, you've got a sure recipe for shortages and sky high prices, with all sorts of commensurate economic damage as a result. If your tech industry had been similarly shackled by political pandering and meddling, then we'd still be using vacuum tubes and listening to 33 RPM vinyl records. I am all for any energy sources that make economic sense. And I trust the market to do just that, not some bonehead pols trolling for votes from ignorant sheeple...
