now americans must choose between a perpetual war with desert people who are not afraid to die, and a race war with countrymen who have not much to lose

this just in e-mail in-tray

Ron Paul has no chance. The dirt on him is coming out:

captainsquartersblog.com

SNIPS:
when Charles "Lefty" Morris, a Democrat running against Paul for a House seat, released excerpts stating that "opinion polls consistently show only about 5% of blacks have sensible political opinions," that "if you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be," and that black representative Barbara Jordan is "the archetypical half-educated victimologist" whose "race and sex protect her from criticism." At the time, Paul's campaign said that Morris had quoted the newsletter out of context. Later, in 2001, Paul would claim that someone else had written the controversial passages

If this all had come from a single newsletter, then one could accept the "loose cannon among the staff" explanation, along with an apology. However, these went on for years, according to both the Chronicle and TNR. It stretches credulity to the breaking point that his staff produced these newsletters for that long without anyone in the office, including Ron Paul himself, noticing the objectionable material in them.
Even if one accepts that as the truth, it serves as a damning indictment of Paul. How can he be so out of touch that he doesn't notice the hateful writings published in his own newsletter for so long? Doesn't anyone on his staff read their own publications? Either Paul is a complete incompetent, or the truth is in another, more unpleasant explanation.

Iowa is a Red State, so Obama appeals to the center/left.

New Hampshire is Blue/Purple, which means that Hillary appeals to the left.

Whoever wins the 2008 Presidential election has to win the "purple" states.

The markets reacted positively to Hillary because the markets are in blue/purple states, and the people who run the markets and the big investors are blue/purple voters, Eastern Establishment. Hillary is Establishment by birth, Eastern Establishment by mutual choice. She wanted in, they wanted her in.

But the markets don't control how people vote. They don't even predict how The People vote. They just tell you who the Eastern Establishment prefer.

FYI, in my lifetime, the Eastern Establishment hated Nixon, and hated Reagan even worse, but both got elected anyway.
