You’ve contradicted yourself on several points.

1) “Schiavo was a braindead vegetable.”

There is no such thing as a brain dead vegetable except in the plant kingdom. Human beings have a range of capacities for brain activity but what sets them apart from other creatures is the uniqueness of a human soul. In Christianity, which you claim, the human soul is recognized as being under the responsibility of each to his own and under the protection of a divine creator.

2) “So no debate she needed to be allowed to die.”

Terry was allowed to die just as you and I are. The act of allowing, in this case, is to grant permission. It is unnecessary and inappropriate for human beings to grant permission for that which is beyond their authority. Life and death may at times be bound in part by the actions or choices we make but legal definitions of death do not account for presence or absence of a soul or the rightness or wrongness of a soul to pass at any particular point in time. There is a debate and the debate is around whether or not we should be taking an active role in determining the time when an innocent person should die (be killed). They are allowed to die when God determines the proper time, not you or I.

3) ”My father told us to take the damn feeding tube out and let him die in dignity. I know what it's like.

You may know what it is like to witness unbearable suffering of another. All eye witness accounts described Terry’s condition as one of relative felicity. The two situations are in no way comparable except that the two people seemed to be on death’s door with the remainder of their lives in the hands of others.

4) “It's inhumane to keep someone who's terminal artificially alive in a miserable condition with a feeding tube.”

In some cases that may be debatable since conditions are known to change and people often regret judgments they made while in the midst of something personally unbearable, not to mention the nobility with which some people are able to continue in spite of their personal sufferings. However, Terry’s condition was not miserable except from your perception which is obviously corrupted by political motives.

5)” Death is a natural thing and when it's time to go, let them go.”

Death is a natural thing and I personally view it to be just as positive as birth. Births and deaths should all be allowed to proceed along a natural course with as much encouragement and human compassion as we can muster, which is far different than making political haydays over an individual’s tragedy or meddling with those friends and family who are struggling to cope with the event.
