I have seen Jackson on TV talking up Obama. It's not helpful. Jackson's son is also a close friend of Obama's. That is risky aspect of the Obama candidacy, I'm telling you. Jackson is respectable in many circles, even a great leader in others, but he scares off moderate white voters. And you see how race is paying into things, especially from the rightwing? The idea that race is irrelevant and can be transcended in US politics is a pipe dream. So is gender, of course, and that makes Hillary risky as well. Edwards remains the most electable of the three.
