Now there is a very good point. Of course today not many newlyweds even know the first thing about cooking.

I can not count all the times I have heard people say, "I don't have time," as reason for going for take-out of eating in restaurants. A good number get their take-out at a supermarket that I know for a fact takes an hour for them to run fro home, supermarket, home--less time than cooking.

Although FoodTV programs are enjoyed by many and cookbooks sell well, the actual process of cooking takes place less now than in previous decades.

I live in a rural area, but friends who live in the closest city tell me a few supermarkets will take orders over the phone and do free delivery if over a certain amount ($25??) and $5. if under. So, no real excuse for saying food shopping takes too much time.

Our oldest got this for our youngest when he got married. It's a really neat cookbook.
