More on Technical Analysis. Here is a classical Dead Cat Bounce finance.yahoo.com

The reason for my curiosity about WLDN is that I bought it on a whim at IPO when I didn't know what they did [there were a few shares left over that the broker had and it appeared from early trading that they would be a good buy]. When I learned a bit about them, such as they do works for local government and watched early trading and read about the people running the company [okay but various transitional issues], I sold them for a small gain.

Local government predicated on property taxes when a major adjustment in property prices was underway and coming didn't seem in the slightest a good idea.

Also, there was an underpinning bidder at $10 which, when they withdrew, seemed likely to send the shares down.

There was some illegal share trading that I spotted - orders not filled etc. My shares were bought at a higher price than should have been the case as cover for the illegal trading that was done = they couldn't leave my sell order outstanding or it would leave them exposed.

I didn't mention it to the SEC as I figure no good deed goes unpunished, I had nothing personally to gain as it wasn't me who was robbed and there are crooks everywhere [I don't want to spend much energy chasing one cockroach when I'm surrounded by 10 million]. It was a cheap lesson in the criminality of those running the system [not that I need more of them - lessons or criminals, though reminders are useful].

My order sticks out like a [little Tonka-Truck sized] sore thumb at about $10.53 [if I remember rightly] in the early days. The order had been in from the day before, but not filled until later the next day.

Another cheap lesson from WLDN is that it's easy to get ahead of the mob with not much knowledge and thinking. It took until November for the truth to dawn on them. As TJ says, it's good to panic early and head for the hills [if one has some hills to head for and they aren't infested with occupiers lying in wait].
