Whaddya mean coming out of the woodwork? I've been posting here since 1996... MM, I had to pull you chain a bit with this market <ggg>. I've told you before B & H is fine, although has more and more pitfalls as trading has picked up and commissions come down. I know people that got excited in the tech market and bought almost a decade ago. Stocks they are still holding are a fraction of what they were then (like Cisco), and they will most likely never get their money back. You want long term? Look at returns if you bought something like an index fund based on the DOW over the past eight years....

John

PS - There have also been decade long periods like the 1970's where unless you were trading in and out of issues I wonder if you made much money just holding, as the DOW hit 1k as I recall and then took somehthing like ten years to top it. Come to think of it, almost sounds like what we have now if things continue to regress <ggg>...

>>Statistics show that LTBHs made back all there money and were in the black only 5 years after the Crash of '29.<<

Survivor bias.
