>>For whom, one might ask:
under normal circumstances it is a security risk for the lender not the borrower. In that case, China who finances the deficit on a continued basis has the problem (others too).<<

Seems to me recent history showed the end of the cold war due to the Soviet Union going broke. Now that the USA is broke and is dependent on the kindness of China not to call the bills due, it is a very real security problem. Our greatest military isn't worth much if we cant buy fuel for the fancy machines or bullets to shoot.

All the great battles lost in history were due not to a lack of men or machinery but to them running out of supplies, pushing too fast and over extending supply lines etc. They stop lending and we have no supplies and war is over without firing a shot. SPR would last what? 60 days? How much do we still make in our own borders? Heck even our uniforms come from outside the US now.

We better wake up.

Good Luck,

Lee

Blowing up debt is a risk for both the lender and the borrower.
Lenders lose money, borrowers get the repo man. Are the Chinese
and the Arabs buying Citi the Repo men? <g>

Let's assume that USA is depending on international trade to keep running well, then USA has to recognize and pay back its debts. Large debts are loss of sovereignty, and in this case, USA is losing sovereignty to China and other countries.

This is common knowledge, and I really cannot understand why USA has put itself into this position.
