The perfect is the enemy of the good. Are religious people often hypocritical? Then religion is evil. No that doesn't follow. Hypocrisy is a trait of flawed humans. Everyone is hypocritical, even spiritual people not belonging to an organized religion.

It is possible to be spiritual without belonging to an organized religion.

Sure it is. Though its harder I think.

Would you say "I just can't stand the BS and hypocrisy put out" by the civil rights movement because its preeminent leader, Martin Luther King, was a hypocrite in his personal life?

An example of the perfect being the enemy of the good and the folly of obsessing on human failings and hypocrisies.
