"Anybody who thinks that the CPI measures inflation is out of his/her mind. The CPI is designed to limit governmental obligations to social security recipients, among other things."

You've hit the nail on the head, especially with how Brinker was clueless with the relationship between oil, gold and inflation. It is hard to believe at times he actually believes some of what he says about it.

Myself, in 1994 I bought the best piece of real estate I could get in a place foreigners have continued to buy as the weak dollar makes it cheaper and cheaper. I'd rather sit on my personal gold mine!

I think you bears have it wrong a bit... I think the markets for everything will continue to go up and up over time as more and more people become free. Just think how many billions of kids will get $200 PCs in the next few years... by the time they grow up they will want cell phones, PCs that are more powerful, TVs, MP3 players, etc.... I plan to profit handsomely from it and I know it won't go up in a straight line...

The 0.0001% of those billions of kids who become the next Bill Gates or Buffets or Google Boys or facebook people will more than likey want to send their kids to school where I live and let their wives live in a pleasant climate with a country that won't let a revolution steal what they worked for.

Hmmmm. That seems to be a trait that is common to all bashers.

Another is rudeness, as witness kirk's recent unprovoked attack on queen. I haven't seen much if any of that from you yet, but judging by the number of people who have you on ignore, I assume it's coming soon. -:)
