Economies happen to resemble other cyclical systems. The United States did a good job since Carter's stagflation of avoiding the major feedback cycles.

One problem is that most people will not identify the Pelosi Reid minimum wage bill as the thing that turned a small recession into a major problem. The partisan press will cover for the guilty democrats.

BTW - There are many people who argue that a strong dollar is bad and that we should be glad to see it weaken. I don't tend to agree in general, but see some merit in the position.
