And thus, I'm still not on board with Obama, because he just doesn't get it.

I think you are wrong... I think you are not going down to the very base of the problem.

The current politicians are pawns. They are controlled by the special interests. Those are the folks that are trying to do the evil things you suggest... to enhance their bottom line. And while you do have the Neo ideological element, they really don't have any support among the average voter.

And I think Obama gets it. If you can't change the 'tone' of the debate, then you can't make any change. The far right has done a wonderful job of setting the 'tone', and you can see the results.

I'm as much of a wonk as your are... show me the policy details. But if Hill gets elected, she will be pushing against a brick wall; she might make some incremental gains but the big picture won't change. We'll still be fighting for an inch when we need a mile.

No, if you can get Obama nominated, and then elected with a good majority, I think the 'tone' changes. A very long shot but what we really need.

But that's just not it. There's a side here that doesn't care about other people; one that is actively trying to keep us from having health care, that is dismantling our public schools brick by brick, that is trying to keep our wages down. The same side believes that we should be able to torture people, start whatever damn wars we'd like, spy on whomever we want to, keep our women in their places, and a whole spate of other things that are just plain wrong and harmful to tens of millions, or even hundreds of millions of people in this country.

Democrats' hands are dirtier. 40 years of the great society is a failure with five trillion dollars spent to keep the poor depending upon the politicians they vote for. If Roosevelt returned with his CCC and WPA programs, the current hijacked democrat party members and their friends in the media would destroy him.

I don't buy Hillary's "It Takes a Village" nonsense based upon her and her husband's history.

"He makes it sound like there are procedural, bureaucratic issues, like the politicians in Washington just aren't talented enough."

And that is the major problem I have with Obama. Joining hands and singing "Kumbaya" is good, but it won't get the job done.

The same side believes that we should be able to torture people, start whatever damn wars we'd like, spy on whomever we want to, keep our women in their places, and a whole spate of other things that are just plain wrong and harmful to tens of millions, or even hundreds of millions of people in this country.

I don't believe there is an evil group who doesn't care about people, a group that is actively trying to keep people from receiving medical care, a group that is dismantling our schools brick by brick, a group that is trying to keep wages low, a group that wants to torture people, a group that wants to start wars, a group that wants to spy on everyone at anytime, and a group that wants to keep women in their places.

A different opinion of how to improve medical care doesn't make that group evil.

A different opinion of how to fix our failed public school system doesn't make that group evil.

A different opinion of how to help the poorest people doesn't make that group evil.

A different opinion of how to execute a war against a religious group what is willing to die to kill you doesn't make that group evil.

A different opinion of when to fight a war doesn't make that group evil.

A different opinion of when terminating a pregnancy is murder doesn't make that group evil. The latest figures show 1.2 million pregnancies were aborted in the US, 20 percent of all pregnancies in the US. 80% of the mothers were unmarried.

The current abortion on demand of terminating pregnancies by ignoring the slaughter of unborn children is birth control. It may be a woman's choice, a few may be medically necessary, but it is still very wrong.

1200000 unborn US children were never given the opportunity to see the life God had prepared for them. Man thinks he's smarter than God. Maybe that's the best place to start fixing our problems.
