Reagan transformed the country in many WRONG ways. A few things he did were fine, but he basically transferd trillions in power and wealth from the people to the big corporations and mega-wealthy class, claimed government was the problem (which was a malicious lie, only corrupt governments like his and Bush's are the problem) then promoted a selfish "Me first", "Greed is good" type thinking which also gave birth to un-Christian materialic lusts of all kinds. When Reagan signed the S+L deregulation bill he proclaimed it as a golden day to unleash the power of free enterprise. Yeah, "free" as in free money for his cronies and no rules at all. That one signing alone cost us 350 billion. The Contra War they were trying to turn into the next Vietnam, to occupy all of Central America. What corruption was involved there, including with cocaine lords. Reagan and Bush especially were truly crooked with Contra and Iran-Contra. There was no threat first of all, secondly, they broke all kinds of laws and lied many times. Then even traded arms with the Iranians. More heads should have rolled on that one, including GHW Bush who was the leader but lied and said he was "out of the loop".
