No, give credit to Bill CLinton for the economy of the 90's. He dared to raise taxes in the face of dangerous political punishment to finally pay off the Reagan-Bush deficits. At the same Clinton did this, GOP House Honcho Dick Armey decried the tax hikes as a sure ticket to a DEPRESSION and warned Clinton that he alone would be responsible, and that the GOP congress would hold him responsible.

Well guess what, Clinton gave us the best economy ever. And yep, you said it, now the GOP wants some of the credit. for doing what? Trying to scare Clinton into not balancing budgets?

Right now there is very little to cut in the federal budget. In fact our entire infrastructure needs rebuilding. We have huge domestic needs. The only place now to cut are the GOP's pet honey pots defense spending and corporate welfare, two huge items worth more than 100 billion per year in cuts.

The last time we cut defense spending we enjoyed eight years of peace and prosperity afterward. Even Cheney and Bush agreed at the time. Time to do it again. We could start by cutting half our nuclear missile program. They are not needed except as an extreme doomsday deterrent. We should also cut much of Star Wars/SDI, it's mainly useless. Plus cut all subsidies to corporate special interests. All of them. Corporations have no rights under the Constitution, people do.
