I think the meaning is that many people tend to vote for people they imagine, perhaps on a subconscious level, they can identify with. It is the "he's one of us" feeling. I don't think there is anything new about it.

One of the last things in a candidate I'd look for is his ability to be able to relate to me on a personal level. The guy is running for President not party host.......

I'll make a prediction. If McCain wins the WH we're hardly going to even notice the change in administration...... Welcome to a rerun of the last 4 years, followed by Democrat that's a radical socialist.......... Welcome to the United States of the Peoples Working Party of America.........

I'm going to pay very close attention to how "your president" and the other candidates pile on Romney tonight. And am still wondering if you have any thing to say about the Keating 5 scandal?
