It was a very strange thing to do, makes me wonder if he is conflicted over whether he made the right call. I could see hostility as a reaction to that conflict.

Oh gosh no. I figure the man likes animals. He seems to. I just don't think he cares much about people. Lots of people who don't care about other people love their dogs, or whatever.

And I'm sure he loves his kids. Or I should say, I suspect he does.
