I'm not so sure of that.

This is not a popular opinion among my conservative friends, but here goes...

Trying to get tribal people who haven't agreed on anything for 20 centuries to agree to get along in a democracy is a no-win proposition.

And the fact that nobody can crisply define "winning" the Iraq war tells me we are wasting lives and dollars there. We could be there for another 100 years and not see conditions indicating we've won anything.
