What I questioned was why being a frat boy and a dilettante in one's youth is disqualifying.

When coupled with a follow-on career as a Texas rich kid that did nothing to broaden his interests or knowledge, I put it down as part of a pattern with a predictable result.

Having met a bunch of people in Congress on their foreign trips, their knowledge of the issues was often limited to the latest briefing paper they had read (or had read to them in the car from the airport).

Of course now we are getting back to my general opinion of politicians so I will stop there.
