I might have put up with it knowing that the "solution" was worse.

Perhaps we just haven't finished the process yet. It's been a pretty short cycle, after all, and it's been dramatic. There are still kinks to be worked out and kinks take time.

I don't like the number of female headed households in poverty.

Me, neither, but female headed households in poverty being caused by women having to work? Or by women having the option to work? Huh?

I'm not sure that they have to work more than they did in the past. Maybe to meat today's lifestyle expectations they do, but today's lifestyle expectations are a lot higher than in the past.

Well with more single Mom's you do have a group that has more need to work than in the past, so you have something of a point, but I'm not sure that women married to men with full time employment really need to work more, they just expect more, and can't get it unless they also work.
