I think genetics are against you. To begin with men don't breastfeed, and there begins, or should begin, the greatest nurturing relationship a child has. I see no way of overcoming such biological destiny. It would be nice if you could split things "fairly" but I think the mammalian history of evolution is against you. I'm not willing to damage our species' offspring in service to the notion that equality would be preferable. It would be, but it isn't practical in this one case. Usually equality isn't opposed by evolution quite so blatantly.
