" Refusing to Serve Fat People in Restaurants
posted at 2/1/2008 3:43 PM EST

Mississippi legislators have introduced a new bill that if passed would prohibit restaurants from serving food to obese people (as defined by state criteria.) Can you imagine having to give your body mass index--in addition to your credit card--to get served a meal? This proposed legislation takes fat stigma to new heights"

<<The evils of "socialism".>>
LOL

<<Require people to purchase health insurance, make the insurance affordable, or at least tax-deductible, and then fine those who don't comply...>>

boston.com

<<In addition, employers whose uninsured workers make multiple use of emergency room care -- "free riders," in the bill's parlance -- would have to pay between 10% and 100% of the portion of those medical bills exceeding $50,000.>>

benefitscounsel.com

In the real world, nobody likes free riders.Question for everyday life <<Who's paying>>The wealthy guy resents being expected to pay all the time. The poor guy expects someone else to pay, he's poor.<g>

In healthcare, everyone in Canada has to pay his share according to tax system and proportional healthcare fee in Ontario...sliding scale up $900 per year..most seniors and the working poor paying small amounts.

No government commie fines involved.LOL

Under socialism, I presume lipo and cosmetic surgery would be banned. ?

And maybe cancer surgery and hip and knee operations for really old people.

One note, this lipo wasn't for overall fat reduction, but for a condition which caused fat deposits on the legs. Thus I think it wasn't primarily cosmetic in nature.

Straw man arguments do not further discourse. You have much in common with Imprestine whose latest alias is 1929Crash.
