And I think if/when the sliming of Barack occurs, it will be imperative that Dems stand up and stand together like never before. What also will help Barack is that people are on to the 527s et al. Even Republicans know they were sold a bill of goods by the election of Bush and the subsequent failures that followed. I'm hopeful that only the hard-core right-wing haters will get suckered in by the attacks this time around. One thing I do like about an Obama vs McCain match is the sharp contrast between the younger, healthier Obama and the pale, aging McCain. It may all come down to the media again. And how much they latch onto and spin the slimy stories.

RWE and swiftboaters are going to have a field day with Barack "MI" Obama. I love idealism and the notion that Obama will inspire us all to rise above the partisan ugliness. I would like nothing better. But the fact is, the people who branded Gore as a serial liar and Kerry as an unpatriotic coward with self-inflicted war wounds, and made those labels stick, are still out there, and they own the MSM. Expect unprecedented slime, such as this: truthdig.com Rather than convincing me to not vote for a candidate who would be a target for this sort of crap, these kind of base attacks make me want to fight back harder. Hopefully, as a nation, we have grown up some these past seven years and can send these hatists back under the rocks from whence they crawled.
